100th Town Hall for Christie This Week [VIDEO/AUDIO]

On Wednesday in Ocean County, Governor Chris Christie is scheduled to host his one-hundredth town hall with constituents since taking office in 2009.

The milestone event kicks off at 3:00 p.m. in Manahawkin (Stafford Township) at Saint Mary of the Pines Parish Center.

The Governor has used the town hall format to speak directly with New Jersey residents, who are offered seats at a first come-first serve basis.

At most events, Christie speaks for the bulk of the time allotted about the most pressing issues hitting the state. The rest of the time is devoted to questions from members of the audience, who are chosen at random. The question-and-answer portion has provided for a number of popular YouTube clips featuring New Jersey’s confrontational leader.

During a press event in Bradley Beach on Monday, Christie vowed to continue his town hall run through this election year. He also insisted the town hall meetings are not ”campaign events.”

“I don’t go there and advocate for people to vote for me,” said Christie. “They are a way of keeping me in touch with the people who put me in this job.”

Christie said as Governor of a state, it is difficult to have regular interactions with everyday citizens.

The Governor also said he’d continue holding town hall meetings in a second term, if he were re-elected to the position in November.

Anyone interested in attending tomorrow’s event can RSVP here. No one is guaranteed a seat, but the responses give Christie’s advance team a better idea of the seating demand.
