Police in Brigantine responded to two separate odd situations Tuesday.

In the first incident, Brigantine Officer Craver responded to a report of a bicycle accident at 2pm near the Brigantine bridge. As she approached a man standing over a downed bicycle, the man started running - directly into traffic. Cars had to take evasive action to keep from hitting the man. Following a foot pursuit, Officer Craver was able to apprehend the man underneath the bridge. Police say Ahmir J. Nash, 22, of Atlantic City, was already wanted on previous robbery and drug charges. He was found to be in possession of heroin. Nash was taken to the Atlantic County Jail.

As noted in the Facebook post by the Brigantine Police Department, the second incident, about 8pm, occurred at the Wawa, where police received reports of a man spilling coffee on himself. At the store, police found Ivan A. Diaz, 28, of Brigantine impaired or under the influence. He was found to be in possession of heroin. After written up on several charges including DWI and possession of a controlled substance, Diaz was released.
