Cicadas are red-eyed bugs that emerge from the ground every 17 years.  They're pretty noisy (though, their sound is soothing to me) and a little creepy.  But we might not see as many cicadas here in New Jersey.

Evidently, in 2013, New Jersey had an emergence of cicadas - we were just a few years early.  Cicadas typically swarm every 13 to 17 years.  So the rest of the Northeast can brace to hear the buggers, but we might be spared in New Jersey.

The rest of the Northeast will have to deal with the Brood V cicada.

Get ready if you live outside of New Jersey!
