The now closed Atlantic City Race Track, most recently known as the Atlantic City Race Course, opened back in 1946 and this video showcases what the track looked like in its opening year.

The Atlantic City Race Course in Mays Landing closed just a couple months ago after almost 70 years of horse racing and with rumors circulating that Revel owner Glenn Straub might be looking to purchase the massive facility, we thought it would be fun to take a trip back in time...

Fun fact: when the track opened, the Black Horse Pike by the racetrack was signed as Route 42 -- the same Route 42 which now runs between Williamstown and Bellmawr. In 1953, the state route number was removed and the road was signed as US Route 322, which it still is today.
