One of South Jersey's oldest landmarks will be celebrating a big birthday this Saturday.

The Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City was first lit on January 15, 1857, and back then served countless mariners out at sea. While the light was officially deactivated in 1933, it's still lit every night.

New Jersey's tallest lighthouse will be celebrating its 158th birthday this Saturday and you are invited to attend! You will be able to climb the lighthouse for free from 11:00 to 3:30 and you can enjoy some birthday cake at 1:00.

The Absecon Lighthouse is located on South Rhode Island Avenue in Atlantic City in the shadow of the former Revel Casino Hotel.
