Absecon Police Called to Early Morning Armed Robbery

For the 2nd day in a row, police in South Jersey have been called to an armed robbery at a local motel.

At 2:30 this morning, Absecon Police were summoned to the Red Roof Inn on Absecon boulevard.

The desk clerk reported that a man, holding a black and silver handgun entered the lobby and demanded money from the cash register. After taking approximately $400, the man ran out of the building, and into a vehicle. He drove eastbound on Absecon Boulevard.

Police say the suspect is a "black male with a deep voice, approximately 6”2” with dark colored eyes, wearing a black ski mask, dark green hooded sweatshirt dark colored gloves and dark colored cargo style pants. The only description of the suspect vehicle is a dark colored sedan."

Another hotel was robbed in the area early Tuesday morning. It's not known if the two incidents are related in any way.
