A Pleasantville man has been arrested after cops say he broke into a business on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

Atlantic City police say they responded to the Bungalow Beach Bar in the 2600 block of the Boardwalk for a report of an activated burglar alarm just before 4:00 Monday morning.

Responding officers, according to a press release, found a broken window at the establishment. Surveillance center personnel began to check coverage from that area and located the suspect entering and exiting the business. Officers were also aided in gaining a description of the suspect from the business’s surveillance cameras. Cops say the suspect, later identified as 52-year-old Bernard Snead of Pleasantville, fled with $500 worth of liquor.

Less than a hour later, the officers who responded to the alarm saw Snead at Iowa and Pacific Avenues where he was arrested without incident.

Cops say he was carrying a book bag which contained seven bags of frozen shrimp, seven frozen steaks, and two screwdrivers. The food is believed to be stolen, but the location of the theft has not yet been determined.

Snead has been charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, hindering apprehension, and possession of burglary tools and he was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
