An Atlantic City man is in trouble with the law after cops say he led police on a multi-block chase after officers observed him dealing drugs.

Around 10:00 Wednesday morning, officers observed 33-year-old Darryl Jackson of Atlantic City conducting a narcotics transaction in the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue, according to a press release. The officers attempted to stop Jackson who immediately fled, leading officers on a multi-block foot pursuit.

Jackson was eventually caught and found with a loaded handgun in his waistband and 40 bags of heroin in pocket. The handgun was stolen in 2002 from Winslow Township.

Jackson is now facing numerous charges ranging from unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest. Jackson also had three active warrants and was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
