It was another busy weekend for the Atlantic City Police Department.

Just before 1AM Sunday morning, ACPD officers on patrol on Atlantic Avenue were flagged-down by a 49-year-old man from the city who was bleeding from a stab wound. Through an investigation, the stabbing suspect was identified as 46-year-old Javier Urena-Polanco of Atlantic City, who was arrested by officers several blocks away. The victim was transported to ARMC-City for treatment; Urena-Polanco is now facing several charges including aggravated assault.

Later Sunday, around 11PM, ACPD officers responded to the beach block of Ocean Avenue after receiving a call about a man who was shot in the hand. When they arrived, they found 26-year-old Alexander Botchway of the city suffering from a gunshot wound. Botchway was taken to ARMC-City for treatment and was released.

Police continue to investigate both incidents. Anyone with information is asked to contact the ACPD at (609) 347-5788.
