An Atlantic City teenager has been indicted in the beating death of a 71-year-old man last summer.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office says Jonathan Perez hit and kicked Alfred Kessleski during a robbery outside the older man’s Atlantic City residence in late July. Kessleski died from his injuries several days later.

On Wednesday, a grand jury indicted Perez on murder, felony murder, robbery and weapons counts. He faces life in prison if convicted.

Perez was 17 at the time of the alleged crimes but will be tried as an adult. He allegedly struck Kessleski with a milk crate then continued to hit and kick him while stealing his wallet.
