Meetings between AC officials and a company called Uplift Solutions took place this week to start moving forward on plans to bring a well-known grocery store to the city.

At the present, Atlantic City has only one grocery store, the Save-A-Lot on Atlantic Avenue. NJ.com reports that Uplift Solutions, a company that brings quality grocery stores to areas that struggle attracting that kind of business, plans on visiting various regions of the city in an effort to collect as much feedback as possible from residents about what they'd like to see happen with the plans.

When questions were asked about the fate of the employees of Save-A-Lot if it were to go out of business, Atif Bostic, the Executive Director of Uplift Solutions, said that he'd be happy to give them employment at the new store, however it will be an adjustment since the store will operate in a completely different manner than what they're used to.

The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has given approval for Uplift Solutions to erect the site on the corners Indiana and Ohio Avenues and will maintain ownership of the building upon completion.
