Miranda Lambert may have been comfortable singing in front of most of the United States at once during the Super Bowl, but making her big-screen debut as an actress is an entirely different story. Lambert’s acting premiere on ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’ will air tomorrow (Feb. at 10:00PM ET on NBC. Talking to Country Weekly about the experience, Lambert admits she was extremely nervous while shooting.
For as much fun as Randy Travis seemed to be having right after last weekend’s Super Bowl, one can only imagine this week has been nothing short of miserable for the country star who was arrested early Monday morning for public intoxication. Now, according to a police report obtained by TMZ, more news has hit the scene (and the fan) relating to Travis’ case. It seems he was drunk in his car in front of a Baptist church in Sanger, Texas, because he had just been in a fight with his girlfriend.
At Saturday night’s Jason Aldean My Kinda Party Tour show in Champaign, Ill., one fan was trying to have his own kinda party — but he wasn’t able to stay in the audience long enough to see it to a good close. With Aldean at the back of the University of Illinois assembly hall to join Luke Bryan on an acoustic set, the drunken fan began losing his cool, which is visualized in the video below. Country radio station B104 was in attendance at the show and came back with the juicy details.
After news of Randy Travis‘ 1:30AM arrest on a charge of suspicion of public intoxication circulated this morning, Travis came out with a public apology for his actions. In a statement to the Associated Press, the country singer offered his sincerest apologies for ”what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl,” assuring that he’s ”committed to being responsible and accountable” in the future.
Country sweetheart Miranda Lambert has been in the news a good bit lately, and most of the headlines have revolved around the personal tragedies she’s encountered in the past couple of weeks. The ‘Baggage Claim’ singer had to deal with the death of her father-in-law, her childhood friend and even her beloved dog, Dixie. Though Lambert has been dealing with these losses, she kept most of her On Fire Tour in tact, but the emotion of everything overcame her at a Huntsville, Ala. show Thursday night. There, Lamber broke down crying in the middle of her nostalgic hit ‘The House That Built Me.’
Yesterday’s Super Bowl gave Americans across the country reason to party, but longtime country star Randy Travis carried the festivities on until very early this morning, apparently. Travis was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Monday morning in Sanger, Texas because police noticed his odd behavior and arrested him on a charge of suspicion of public intoxication.
Last Saturday night (Jan. 28), Vanessa Pritt from Charleston, W.V. was enjoying a Brad Paisley concert in Las Vegas with her boyfriend, Jason Davis, when Paisley reportedly handed Davis the mic in the middle of a song. Getting down on one knee, Davis asked Pritt to be his wife. Paisley, meanwhile, recorded the whole proposal from the stage on his iPhone.
With the 2012 Grammy Awards fast approaching, we’re learning more every day about who will take the iconic stage to host, perform, present and (hopefully) win. The Recording Academy announced today that Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley are confirmed presenters for this year’s awards show. The two country stars will be joined by Drake and Gwyneth Paltrow, with more presenters to be announced in the coming weeks.
The new issue of Rolling Stone has just been revealed, and fronting the rock and pop culture mag is none other than Blake Shelton, joined by his fellow celebrity judges from NBC’s smash entertainment show ‘The Voice.’ In jeans and a black button-up, Shelton is a mixture of dapper and Nashville outlaw, with his outdoorsman, barbed wire and deer track tattoo exposed just below his rolled cuff.
Trisha Yearwood is about to marry two of her longtime abilities: being in front of an audience and offering up delicious southern fare. The Grammy Award winning artist has already authored two bestselling cookbooks — ‘Cooking for Family and Friends’ and ‘Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen’ — and now she’s about to step into the spotlight with her own six-episode cooking show on the Food Network.
Rascal Flatts seem to have a finger on the pulse of a number of industries, and of late they’ve revealed that they have a documentary, restaurants and a fragrance all in the works. This all comes just a couple months after they announced the details of their upcoming clothing line. Oh yeah, and they’re dropping a new record in April — and touring that record — all while Jay DeMarcus is gearing up to be a father for the second time.
“It’s official,” Reba McEntiretweeted last week, sharing, “my episode of @nbcwdytya will premiere on Mar. 2!” She was referring to the third season of NBC’s ancestry searching show ‘Who Do You Think You Are?,’ which will unmask McEntire’s family past. Each season, the show follows celebrities as they dig into their histories, their ancestry and the stories of the people who made their lives possible to begin with.
