Authorities Investigating a Homicide in Mays Landing
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a Thursday morning homicide in Mays Landing.
The Press of Atlantic City reports a shooting took place in the Harding Run 2 development in the 4900 block of Winterbury Drive Thursday morning.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office has released a brief statement:
MAYS LANDING- There is currently an active investigation underway into a homicide on Winterberry Drive in the Village at Hardings Run II development in Mays Landing. ACPO investigators are at the scene and there will be no further comment at this time.
The Press reports William Davies Middle School, located not too far from the crime scene, is on "lock out, look out" status, which was described as not a full lock down, but people are not being allowed into or out of school. Authorities say there is no threat to the school and this was done only for precautionary measures.
