A heavily armed man who barricaded himself inside his southern New Jersey home last week and kept police at bay for several hours is now facing charges.

Authorities say they found 10 weapons and nearly 1,700 bullets in the Barnegat home of 53-three-year-old Eric Reuter. That came after he allegedly made threatening statements on his Facebook page and barricaded himself inside the residence in a senior community on Thursday night.

Reuter eventually was taken into custody early Friday, after a SWAT team entered the home, and was then taken to a hospital for evaluation. He’s now been charged with obstructing the administration of law.

No injuries were reported in the standoff, though several nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.
