Be Prepared for Hurricane Joaquin [LIST]

As Hurricane Joaquin continues its course for a possible landfall at the Jersey Shore, here's a great list of things to have handy if the storm comes your way.

Some great things to have on hand are as follows:

  • non-perishable foods
  • can opener
  • bottled water
  • hand-crank or battery-operated radio
  • batteries
  • flashlights
  • candles
  • matches
  • RadioPup for your smartphone or tablet
  • A portable phone charger
  • blankets/sleeping bags
  • A full week supply of any medications you and your family take (Very important)
  • First aid kit
You should also have a full tank of gas, some cash on hand and be ready to evacuate at any time.
Another smart tool is to download an application to your smartphone that can notify people of where you are, and if you need help or are safe. The Red Cross has a Hurricane App and a first aid App are available .
Most importantly, stay calm and listen to Cat Country 107.3 for any breaking news.
