Big Day for Martin Truex Jr and Big Day for South Jersey

Martin Truex Jr. held a Question and Answer Session in front of the Monster statue at Dover International Speeday with dozens of South Jersey residents, including our Cat Country NASCAR bus trip winners.

Truex was asked his strategy for the day's Sprint Cup race. "Win" said Truex.

Sure enough, that's what the South Jersey native did. Win.

Before the race, Truex was presented a check for his Martin Truex Jr. Foundation, that helps women and children battle cancer. Flanked by his girlfriend, Sherry Pollex, Truex accepted the check for over $15,000 from the American Legion Post in Little Egg Harbor.

When a LIttle Egg Harbor resident asked Truex, "When are you going to put a ring on it", referring to plans for an engagement to his longtime girlfriend, Truex side-stepped the question with a bit of humor, "I'm sorry, I couldn't hear the question....."
