Brothers Osborne Take Concert to Bus Rooftop After Venue Ceiling Caves In
Brother Osborne's TJ and John Osborne brought the house down at a show over the weekend — literally. The country duo were set to play Hanford Fox Theatre in Hanford, California on Saturday night (Dec. 10) when the roof collapsed hours before showtime, forcing them to cancel the show inside the venue.
However, the guys live by the motto "the show must go on" and decided to move the party to a surprising new location: the top of their tour bus.
The Bros gave attendees a heads up on Twitter about the incident, telling them to head to the bus in 20 minutes for the show. What followed was a 30-minute set atop the tour bus in the rain, with the duo treating fans to tracks like "Greener Pastures," "Rum" and even a cover of "Hey, Good Lookin'" by Hank Williams. The show was made that much better when John's wife, Lucie Silvas — a British singer-songwriter who has a cut on Miranda Lambert's new album The Weight of These Wings — joined the country act later in the set for multiple songs, including their first No. 1 hit, "Stay a Little Longer."
This isn't the first time such a crumbling fate has been bestowed on the duo. They had to end a show early on Nov. 27 while performing at the Egyptian Theatre in Boise, Idaho, when a portion of the ceiling fell on to the stage during the performance.
After a big win at the 2016 CMA Awards for Vocal Duo of the Year, the Osbornes are up for a 2017 Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "21 Summer." "Stay a Little Longer" was up for the same nomination in 2016. The duo's first headlining tour, the Dirt Rich Tour, continues through January of 2017, with Silvas and fellow newcomers Lanco joining them on the road.
