Can You Wear White After Labor Day? [POLL]

It's long been told that you are not supposed to wear white after Labor Day.  But does that fashion rule still stand?

That picture is of my purse and my shoes today.  September 7th, 2012.  Four days after Labor Day.

Should I not be wearing these white items?

My thought on the subject is that if the weather is still hot, wear white.  As soon as it starts to cool down, I put the white away until next year.
