One of the greatest female singers in country music history was at the top of the charts this week in 1968.

Across her career, Tammy Wynette released 42 albums containing nearly 80 singles of which almost two dozen were number one hits. "D-I-V-O-R-C-E" was one of six consecutive number one songs for Wynette in a 2 year year period in the late 60s. Following this song at the top of the charts was the legendary, "Stand By Your Man."
