38 years ago this week, Dolly Parton was the proud owner of the #1 country song in the nation -- "Jolene."

This was her second number one country song; the first being "Joshua" back in 1970. "Jolene" would become a springboard to a string of hit songs that included, "I Will Always Love You," "Love Is Like a Butterfly," and "The Bargain Store," all of which reached the top of the charts in a span of only two years.
