38 years ago today, Jeanne Pruett recorded the biggest song of her career, "Satin Sheets" -- a song that helps define '70s country music.

Jeanne Pruett recorded "Satin Sheets" on December 29th, 1973. The song would go on to spend three weeks at the #1 spot on the country charts and even crack the top 30 on the pop side. This one song earned Jeanne Pruett nominations for the CMA's Female Vocalist Of The Year and Single Of The Year awards, in addition to becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry that same year. While she retired from performing and from the Opry in 2006, Pruett remains active in country music, doing behind the scenes work.
