Earth Day is this Sunday and the Atlantic County Utilities Authority has an entire day of fun activities planned for the whole family.

The fun begins at 10AM at 6700 Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township as the ACUA, Atlantic City Electric, and other companies show how the global Earth Day movement is taking shape here in South Jersey.

There are a number of free workshops scheduled throughout the day including learning about native plants, rain barrels, home composting, community supported agriculture, and more. The Cape May County Zoo will be on-hand to show how all animals are unique in their own way. You can also make your own wood crafts with The Home Depot. One of the coolest activities is being able to tour the wind farm in Atlantic City by riding a free shuttle from the event.

If you are really motivated, two races are being held. One is a one-mile fun run, which begins at 8:30 AM, followed by a 5K run at 9:00. Registration fee is $15 per person and $25 for a family entry (limit six entries). All proceeds from the race benefit the American Heart Association.

The ACUA's Earth Day celebration is rain or shine. For more information and a full schedule of events, visit the ACUA's website.
