The ACPD says the scene unfolded around 2:00 Friday afternoon when officers responded to the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue for the report of a car that had left the road.

Cops found 27-year-old Daniel Thompson of New Fairfield, CT, inside the vehicle. Responding paramedics had to revive Thompson by using the drug-reversing antidote Naloxone. Thompson was taken to ARMC-City for treatment.

An investigation by the ACPD revealed Thompson side-swiped a vehicle at South Carolina and Atlantic Avenues, then continued driving down Atlantic Avenue where he left the road, hit a sign and parking meter, while continuing on the curb before hitting the steps in front of McDonald's.

Thompson is facing numerous charges, including driving while suspended, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence, reckless driving, uninsured driver, and unlicensed driver. Thompson was released with a future court date.
