If you were outside last night and looked up into skies, you may have seen a meteor that looked much like a fireball flying across the sky.

Evidently the meteor was visible up and down the eastern coast of the United States, but extremely so in Toronto, Canada.

The police in Toronto got multiple calls about plane crashes or other catastrophic events.  However, it was just a meteor courtesy of the Orionid shower that is visible until November 4th.

According to NJ.com,

The bright flash took place at about 10:36 p.m. and was visible as far west as Michigan and as far south as Virginia.
One Philadelphia witness described it as "a huge green flame," while someone in South Jersey described the meteor as "gigantic," PhillyVoice.com reported.
