Dierks Bentley has an interesting routine for getting ready to co-host the ACM Awards April 3. In a new promo video for the ceremony, Bentley is featured at home by himself prepping for the event, giving himself a pep talk in the mirror, practicing opening the envelopes, and yes — singing in the shower.

The artist not only sings the '80s classic “Here I Go Again,” but brings it back to the 21st century with his hilarious version of Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” singing into his bar soap, wearing a shower cap. Bentley continues to get pumped for the event by giving himself some encouraging words and practicing looking from one camera to the other.

“Blake’s out; this guy’s in,” he says, pointing to himself in the mirror. “You’re gonna shine, superstar. The ratings are gonna be big — huge — tremendous ratings."

Bentley does some warm-up stretches, contemplates whether or not to shave, and continues his self-coaching and vocal exercises in his bathrobe. If this video is any indication, Bentley will be ready to take the stage for his first hosting gig in no time.

The singer recently released a new song, “Somewhere on a Beach,” from his upcoming new record Black, and its humorous music video dropped Feb. 26. It features a comedic actor friend of Bentley’s as the main character rather than the artist, and follows his overwhelming interactions with a beautiful woman in Mexico. Black does not yet have a release date, but Bentley says the content runs the gamut from joyous to heartbreaking and will be a personal record for him. His Somewhere on a Beach Tour kicks off in April.
