Drug Summit Planned For Egg Harbor Township High School
With substance abuse rates reported high in the area, officials in Atlantic County are holding a community meeting to focus on the problem.
A group called JTAC (Join Together Atlantic County) is holding the summit on Monday, June 9th from 6-8pm at Egg Harbor Township High School's Auditorium.
The group is promising a focus on substance abuse from "Prescription Use to Heroin Abuse." The forum is open to anyone 12 and older. There will be presentations plus a question and answer period.
According to JTAC, in 2012, "out of 565 New Jersey towns, Atlantic County had 4 of the top 45 towns with the largest number of heroin and opiate cases." These include Atlantic City at #4, EHT at #13, Galloway at #39, and Somers Point at #41.
The event will be hosted by Townsquare Media's Harry Hurley, morning host on WPG talk Radio 1450AM.
