If you're called into Municipal Court in Egg Harbor Township, you now must pass through a metal detector.

Citing a mandate by the State of New Jersey, officials say the metal detector was put into service at the courtroom entrance on December 1st.

All people entering the courtroom for any reason will have to pass through the detector, which will help police search for weapons and other illegal items.

Township officials suggest arriving a little early for any court business.
