Emergency bells at Egg Harbor Township High School rang at approximately 10:30 this morning, sending students and faculty into the cold.

Some seven minutes later, the "all clear" was given, and everyone was allowed to reenter the building.

According to a message from High School Principal Dr. Terry Charlton, the evacuation was triggered by a  water pipe leak near the high school's main entrance. The message from Dr. Charlton was sent to parents via the school's phone alert system.

Charlton says the main entrance is currently blocked with a designated detour. Other than that, the rest of the school day, and after school activities, should go on as scheduled.
