A 22-year-old man from Egg Harbor Township is facing a list of charges after a weekend shooting in Atlantic City.

Early Sunday morning, Atlantic City Police received a ShotSpotter alert at Pennsylvania and Atlantic Avenues. Police also received a 911 call from a person that stated a family member had been shot. The victim, a 30-year-old man from Pleasantville, was transported to ARMC-City by a personal vehicle and was treated for a gunshot wound.

An investigation by Atlantic City, Pleasantville, and Egg Harbor Township Police led to the recovery of a handgun in Pleasantville which is believed to have been used in the shooting.

A suspect identified as 22-year-old Elvis Gonzalez of Egg Harbor Township was identified. On Tuesday, Gonzalez turned himself into the Violent Crimes Unit at the Public Safety Building in Atlantic City and was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. Bail was set at $75,000.

The Violent Crimes Unit is still actively investigating this incident which stemmed from a large altercation at a local bar. Anyone having any information is urged to contact police at (609) 347-5766.
