It's been six weeks and it's still awful.

If your travels take you through and/or around the recently redesigned Airport/NAFEC traffic circle in Egg Harbor Township today, expect (longer) delays. Thanks to complaints and comments from drivers, Atlantic County highway engineers will be reworking and retiming the new traffic signals in an attempt to minimize delays, especially to and from the airport and the Tech Center.

As an almost life-long resident of New Jersey and road geek, I still like the idea of the old-fashioned, not improved traffic circle. It promoted traffic flow with a degree of excitement. I've said it before and I'll say it again:  navigating a traffic circle should be the benchmark for getting and keeping a drivers license in this state. If you can go around a traffic circle at 5:00 on a Friday afternoon while eating a cheeseburger in one hand and talking on a cell phone in the other, parallel parking is a breeze.
