Egg Harbor Township Police are investigating a two-car accident Monday afternoon that sent eight juveniles to area hospitals.

Around 1:30 Monday afternoon, Egg Harbor Township Police responded to a crash on Zion Road at Larch Avenue.

A car, operated by 17 year old from Somers Point, was driving west on Zion Road when a Chevy Trailblazer, being driven by a 17 year old from Somers Point, failed to yield at the stop sign at Larch Avenue and pulled into the path of his vehicle.

Between the two vehicles there were eight juveniles who were injured. They were treated at the scene by ambulance squads from Egg Harbor Township, Hamilton Township, Shore Medical Center, AtlantiCare and AtlantiCare Paramedics. Two of the injured were transported to AtlantiCare City Campus with moderate injuries and the remainder were transported to Shore Medical Center.

Traffic was detoured for approximately 1 hour while the crash was being investigated and cleared.
