Fatal Car Crash in Egg Harbor Township

A single car accident on Thanksgiving afternoon claimed the life of a passenger on an Egg Harbor Township road.

Egg Harbor Township police say a 2000 Porsche Boxster driven by Anthony Ponzio, 62, of EHT went off the roadway and struck a tree. The crash happened on Spruce Avenue, shortly after 4:30pm Thursday.

A passenger in the car, Nevil Tauro, 20, of Absecon was killed in the crash. Ponzio was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
