Police say 41-year-old John Randall of Philadelphia, who originally told officers he was Vincent Eberline of Towanda, PA, was traveling west on the Black Horse Pike around mile marker 47 when his pick-up truck left the road, crashed into several trees, overturned, and then caught fire.

After the fire was extinguished the vehicle, officers determined no one was inside the truck. A search by K9 units eventually found Randall in a wooded area suffering from injuries sustained in the crash. Randall told police he was traveling with another person in the vehicle, but they had split up. A search by a K9 unit, Hamilton Township Dive Team, and the New Jersey State Police found no one and their investigation revealed there was no passenger.

Randall was taken to ARMC-City for treatment and was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a crash; other charges are pending.
