Flight to AC Airport Struck by Lightning, No Injuries
No injuries were reported when a Spirit Airlines plane flying to Atlantic City was struck by lightning Thursday night.
The Press of Atlantic City has reported that "a flight bound for Orlando from the Atlantic City International Airport was delayed Thursday evening because the plane was struck by a bolt of lightning while flying to Atlantic City."
Maggie Espin of Spirit Airlines told the Press of AC that Flight 262's scheduled flight "will be delayed two hours or more while the airline performs an inspection."
As a result of the incident and subsequent delays, passengers on that flight will be offered accommodations on the next flight available to their destination. They can also request refunds or book another flight, according to the Press of AC.
