The obituary for New State Police officer Frankie Williams remembers him as a lover of a good joke, the Dallas Cowboys and his dogs, Charlie and Peanut.

Williams, who was newly married in September, was still in his first year as a trooper.

Thursday night, over 150 people came together at the Leesburg fire hall to mourn Williams' death Monday night in a car crash while on duty.

Williams car was hit head-on when a Toyota Corolla crossed the center median and struck the trooper as he was responding  to a call about an erratic driver on Route 55 in Millville.

Lloyd Rudley, 61, of Elmer, Salem County, crossed over the median and struck Williams' vehicle. Rudley also died in the crash.

The viewing for Frankie Williams will be from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday at Boardwalk Hall.

The viewing will be split in to two parts, with the first two hours set aside for friends and family and the second two hours set aside for law enforcement, according to the notice at Adams-Perfect funeral home.
