After suffering from an upper respiratory infection and canceling a number of his 2012 tour dates, George Jones has finally received some good news. On Memorial Day weekend, he can stop resting his vocal chords and return to the stage — and at the Loretta Lynn Ranch, of all places.

It’s been a rough couple of months for the legendary ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today’ country star. It all started back in March, when an upper respiratory infection landed him in the hospital for treatment and overnight observation. Originally, Jones had scheduled a number of tour dates for April and May, as well as for the rest of the year. But a few days ago (April 27), Jones had to postpone — and potentially cancer altogether — all of his tour dates through May 20.

Aside from the health issues, Jones has recently suffered from some public family drama, too. Last Wednesday (April 25), Jones posted a video clip to his Facebook page, thanking his fans for supporting him through his health problems and updating them on his condition. At the end of his message, he went on to accuse his daughter, Georgette Lennon, of slandering his name and trying to get to his money.

Of course, Lennon denied her father’s claims, stating that she just wants a relationship with her father. It’s hard to say what’s going on behind the scenes, but one thing is for sure: Fans will be excited to see Jones take the stage at the Loretta Lynn Ranch on May 25.
