Georgia’s 5 Faves: A Weekly Dish of Fun New Things!

It’s time for another edition of Georgia’s 5 Faves!  Let me know if there’s something that you want to see featured here!

1.  Better Cheddars -

Here's my retro snack of the week...  I'm a little obsessed with Cheese-It's, but every so often I branch out and try another cheesy snack.  These Better Cheddars might appear on my shelf a little more often now because they are delicious.

2.  The Invention of Wings -

I borrowed this e-book from the library a few weeks ago, but I was hooked from the first page. (I'm a really sloowwwww reader...)  It's part of Oprah's Book Club 2.0 - which means the story is a bit dark - but it's really good.

According to Amazon, "Hetty “Handful” Grimke, an urban slave in early nineteenth century Charleston, yearns for life beyond the suffocating walls that enclose her within the wealthy Grimke household. The Grimke’s daughter, Sarah, has known from an early age she is meant to do something large in the world, but she is hemmed in by the limits imposed on women."

And that's just the beginning.  If you're looking for a new read...  pick this one up!

3.  Stitch Fix Necklace -

I included this necklace a few weeks ago on "Whatcha Wearing Wednesday's" and I have gotten so many compliments on it!  I've worn it a couple of times and it seems to go well with everything.  I don't wear necklaces a lot, but I'm trying to expand my fashion horizons...

4.  This Carrot Cake -

I can take credit for the cake, but I can't take credit for the carrot decoration on top...  Literally I took it from my local Japanese restaurant the night I made this carrot cake!  It was on the plate with the oranges that you get with the fortune cookies...  I stole it because I knew I was making the cake and I knew it would look nice on top!  Oh well....  But THIS CAKE!  I've been really into baking cakes lately... Last week, I posted a chocolate cake recipe that was divine.  I was craving carrot cake this week.  This cake is easy, delicious and perfect for Easter!

5.  Faded App -

I just downloaded this new photo app a few days ago...  I got it for free from Starbucks - ya know the little cards by the register.... they have free downloads, sometimes it's a book, sometimes a song, sometimes an app.  The Faded app is a fun way to edit your photos.  I'm still learning all the different filters, but so far I love it!
