When you eat locally grown produce, you get food at the peak of freshness that is full of flavor. Your food goes from farm to table very quickly so it maintains its nutrients.  Plus, buying local fruits and vegetables helps support local farmers and growers.

We can get local produce at farm markets throughout South Jersey and we can even grow our own through Atlantic County Utilities Authority’s Community Gardens in Egg Harbor Township. For a nominal fee, they provide a patch of ground and watering capabilities.

You can also improve your gardening skills and knowledge with ACUA’s FREE Garden Talks series every month. They are taught by master gardeners and offer you a chance to ask questions and meet other gardeners.

Robin Stoloff talks with the president of the ACUA, Rick Dovey, on her weekly radio show, Living Well with Robin Stoloff. Catch it every Sunday from 9-11am on Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG.
