Hold the Phone! Chipotle is 25 Years Old!

They say you learn something new everyday and the fact I learned today was about Chipotle. Chipotle is a pretty popular fast food restaurant, that if you asked most east coast people, hasn't been around that long. WRONG. I am seriously so lost and confused. I went to Chipotle yesterday and on their napkins and bags they had a graphic celebrating their 25th anniversary. Yes, Chipotle is 25 years old.

I can't remember the first time I heard of Chipotle, but it doesn't feel that long ago. However, the company started back in 1993 in Colorado. 1993 was a good year, it brought us: Jurassic Park, Mrs. Doubtfire, Sleepless in Seattle, and Schindler's List. In country music 1993 gave us "Ain't Goin' Down ('Til the Sun Comes Up), T-R-O-U-B-L-E, Hard Workin' Man, Chattahoochee, and Cadillac Ranch.

After I found out that Chipotle was that old, I had to do some research. I am that person who Googles everything. The little factoid that completely blew me away was which company invested into Chipotle for many years.

Who was this big investor you may ask? McDonald's. Yes, the McDonald's corporation bought a major stake in the company and was a primary investor for 8 years! The companies seem so vastly different, this shocked me.

Well, happy anniversary Chipotle. Here's to 25 more!
