I was so looking forward to this weekend. I've been so busy, so I haven't gotten to really celebrate summer at all this year until this week.

Naturally, I wanted to continue that fun throughout this weekend. Unfortunately, it looks like that may not happen since the weather is calling for scattered thunderstorms the ENTIRE weekend.

GREAT. So, now what? I went on the hunt for some ideas of how to celebrate indoors. They may not be summer-specific activities, but I'm determined to not let a little rain ruin my holiday, and you shouldn't either!

Without any further ado, here are five indoor activities to do in the case of rain.

    Build A Fort

I'm a firm believer that some activities aren't just for kids. Who didn't love building forts? What's stopping you from building one now? Think building forts are normally a childhood activity? Not this weekend it isn't. Grab your comfiest blankets and fluffiest pillows and build yourself the most epic hang-out to re-binge Game Of Thrones. While you're at it, order a pizza and throw on your PJ's. Sounds like an epic night, doesn't it?

    You're welcome.

    Play All The Board Games

Friends don't let friends do Labor Day Weekend alone. Grab you crew and all your favorite games like Life, Sorry, Scattergories, Yahtzee, Apples To Apples, Cards Against Humanity, or my personal favorite: Speak Out, and let the fun begin.

    All The Drinking Games

Since friends don't let friends party alone, what better time to knock out all the best drinking games of the summer then when you're all stuck inside?  Set up flip cup, beer pong, kings, even play tournament-style.

    Go To The Movies

If you start to experience cabin fever, head to your local movie theater. It's still summer, after all, so there's definitely some good movies out right now.

    Get In The Kitchen

Rainy days are the best days to cook. Whip up your summer favorites and enjoy them with your friends and family. Even partake picnic-style! Don't worry, indoor picnics are a thing.
