This week, Revel in Atlantic City took its first step to becoming an actual casino with the arrival of 323 slot machines.

The $2.4 billion project is expecting deliveries of 200 to 300 new machines a day, and Revel should have them all by the 20th of this month, according to a Revel executive.

The Associated Perss reports Revel will have 1,900 hotel rooms and employ about 5,500 when it opens its doors at the north end of the Boardwalk.

As we wait and wait for action on internet gambling and sports betting, Revel could be Atlantic City’s only upcoming hope for revitalization.

Currently, the casino is scheduled to open May 15. That time of year should provide the right weather for a booming open. Plus, it’s rumored a major music festival could return to Bader Field in June. The casino would certainly benefit from that.
