Joe Kelly and Georgia are in Memphis this weekend at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Every year, right before our annual Cat Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon (which is coming up in just a few weeks), the hospital invites us to travel to Memphis to tour the ever-growing facility, to meet the patients and their parents, and to see all of the new and exciting research they are performing.

I’ve been to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital three times over the past 10 or 12 years. The first time you get invited to travel to Memphis, you ask yourself over and over why you would want to spend a weekend at a children’s hospital — you think it’s going to be sad and depressing. It isn’t that at all. Even just standing in the driveway looking at the exterior of the building, you know it’s a special place. To go inside and to see the patients and their parents and the nurses and the doctors is truly amazing. I say this at every radiothon that we do: miracles happen at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital -- it’s true!

If you have ever dropped off pennies during our Quest for One Million Pennies, or if you’ve made a donation at our radiothon, or if you are a Partner In Hope, please know that every penny you give to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is keeping the hospital and the kids strong. All of those pennies and all of our Partners In Hope translate into all of those buildings you see behind Joe Kelly and Georgia in the picture above.

Our annual Cat Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon is coming up soon. If your business might be interested in sponsoring a truly wonderful event, please call us at (609) 645-9797. Thank you!
