As we head into the weekend, we can expect a lot of football!

*The NFL season officially kicks off Sunday (well, it did this past Wednesday, actually). Local high school teams begin their season this weekend. A story is circulating that the Cape Atlantic League may be merging with the West Jersey Football League. This would mean long bus rides for some schools, and no more local rivalry games. I can't see how this would be a good thing.

*Congratulations to our friends, Little Big Town! They just scored several CMA Award nominations, and achieved their very first number one song with Pontoon! The band did one of our Cat Country Backyard BBQs way back in 2001 or 2002. They went thru several years where things were really bad: they were dropped by their record label, they had personal tragedies and more. They have persevered and have landed on the top of the mountain. I still remember - the party was at a home on Robert Best Road in EHT. They are such nice people!

*As I right this, Chris Coleman is the popular pick to teach your kids in school. Really? LOL. Check out our Back to School Poll here.

*Speaking of Back to School.... What's with all the mold problems? Didn't anybody see these before school was supposed to open? Aren't they cleaning schools in the summer anymore? Couldn't anyone had done a walk-through a few weeks before the first day?

*I walked on the beach earlier this week. Empty beach, warm water temperature, warm air temperature. Yes, South Jersey, this is OUR time! Yet.... there are some locals who have NEVER been to the beach!

*We are gearing up for our Quest for One Million Pennies to benefit the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Our list of stops should be out in the next few days. Thank you in advance for all your support!

*Finally, this item from the news: A former teacher of the year in Essex County is accused of seducing one of her 15 year old students. Gee, do you think he voted for her?

*Have a great weekend!
