Revel continues to be in the news. Things are not going as well as they had hoped on the shores of Revel beach. I've been to Revel about ten times since they opened. I hear a lot of people complain at the tables that Revel just doesn't comp like other casinos do. Gamblers like comps.

It really only takes one bad experience to spoil someone's view of a new business - or casino. My wife and I were invited to one of the soft previews when Revel first opened. We sat at one of the new bars and ordered two glasses of house white wine. The bill? $28. A bit much, I think, especially on a "preview day."

Bass Pro Shops is headed to The Walk in Atlantic City. It's actually going to be one of their smaller stores, but I see them doing well. Even if you're not an outdoors-man, you'll venture over to the store at some point. One can only stand in Coach with one's wife for so long.......

Lots of shark and whale sightings along the shore the last couple of weeks. No one's been injured, but is it keeping people from going in the water? Decades late, every time I start walking in the water, the Jaws theme starting playing in my head....

In case you missed it, the Royal Family Jewels were on display in Las Vegas this week. I guess it beats the Nazi uniform.
