Kacey Musgraves ‘Blowin’ Smoke’

Kacey Musgraves has made a lot of new fans with her debut single, 'Merry Go 'Round.' She's going to make a lot more with her second single, 'Blowin' Smoke.'

The song is about the life of waitress and her desire to get away from that scene. Kacey Musgraves is not your run-of-the-mill country artist. And that's that reason that she's gaining so many fans.

'Blowin' Smoke' is along that line. It's a song you might expect to hear on your local college radio station, it has an independent sound, kind of grungy.

And I love it.

Maybe I can relate because I was a server in college. If that's the case, many, many, many others will relate to it and love the song as well.

She sings, "We all say that we'll quit someday / When our ship comes in, we'll just sail away / But we're just blowin' smoke, hey, yeah / We're just blowin' smoke, hey, yeah."

"Wipe down the bar, take out the trash / Light one up and count my cash / Swear I'm never coming back again / I'm just blowin' smoke, hey, yeah."

Kacey Musgraves is just scratching the surface of what's going to be a very long, successful musical career.
