Library Membership
Residents: Membership for Ocean City residents is free. Proof of residency must be presented. Children 14 and under must have a parent or guardian's signature on the application card.
Acceptable I.D. includes a valid N.J. driver's license, tax bill, voter's registration, major utility bill, or phone book listing.
Non-Residents: Residents of nearby communities, and visitors to Ocean City must show proof of their residency and pay $25.00 for the year or $15.00 for ninety days to join the library. Internet Only membership cards are available for $10.00 for a ninety day membership.

Borrowing Materials
Patrons may take out a maximum of 30 items. Items are divided into 2 categories.
Patrons under the age of 18 may not check out entertainment films or videogames on their library cards.
Category 1:
A combination of 20 of the following items may be checked out per library card
Books, Audiobooks, Music CDs:
2 week loan period.
Periodicals:
Back issues only
1 week loan period
Category 2:
A combination of 10 of the following items may be checked out per library card.
(Children are not allowed to check out entertainment films or videogames)
Educational Videos:
2 week loan period
No charge for check out
Entertainment Videos:
3 day loan period
Minimum age for checkout is 18
$1.00 per video due at check out
Children's Videos:
1 week loan period
$1.00 per video due at check out
Video games:
1 week loan period
Minimum age for checkout is 18
$1.00 per item due at check out
Juvenile Software:
2 week loan period
Renewals
All items (except books with an outstanding request on hold for another patron, interlibrary loans, periodicals and videos) may be renewed twice.
Fines
Books, periodicals, CDs, and cassettes are .05 per day.
Educational Videos are .50 per day
Children's Videos are .50 per day.
Entertainment Videos are $2.00 per day
Reference Materials do not circulate!
Damage/Loss
There is a charge for damaged materials
The charge for lost materials is the replacement cost for each item
