Thankfully nobody was hurt, but the Little Egg Harbor home was destroyed after a fire erupted when the house was hit by lightning early Monday morning.

NJ.com reports,

Police responded to the home around 7:17 a.m. after the homeowner reported that her house was struck by lightning, Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy said.

Firefighters at the scene were able to contain the blaze to the one home, though several of the surrounding houses were damaged.

There were other reports of lightning striking homes in the area, Mastronardy said.

Thankfully nobody was hurt.
