Luke Bryan helped make a dream come true for a 9-year-old girl battling cancer, but it nearly didn't happen.

Before a show in Cleveland on Saturday (July 15), the "Fast" singer teamed up with A Special Wish to meet a 9-year-old fan named Addi Keegan. For seven years this little girl has been battling a tumor that keeps coming back. In recent weeks her condition took a turn for the worse, and the Cleveland area nonprofit came up with a backup plan that meant a local band playing Luke Bryan songs in her backyard. Hours before showtime of the real Luke Bryan concert, she felt good enough to go see one of her favorite singers.

During a backstage meeting, Addi — who is in a wheelchair — told the superstar that her favorite song is "Play It Again," and he promised to play the song especially for her later that night. "You better be paying attention," Bryan said, kneeling beside her. "I'm so glad you got to come out!"

Addi's mother told the star that her daughter listens to him every night before she goes to sleep. The girl's mother, father and younger sister, Lu Lu, were on hand for the special meeting, too, and Bryan engaged them all.

And as always, he proved to be a man of his word. Shortly before playing "Play It Again" live that night, he dedicated the song to Addi, who was seated with her family in the press box at the venue. The moment was captured on video and posted to the non-profit organization's Facebook page with a special thank you to the singer.

"Thank you to Luke Bryan for spending time with Addi last night before your show and for giving her a quick shout out before you sang her favorite song. She got to watch and sing along to her favorites in her own private press box," the nonprofit writes.
