A New York man was arrested by Atlantic City Police early Saturday morning for domestic violence.  After being charged and released, two hours later he committed a sexual assault and was arrested again.

Atlantic City Police say Jamel Carlton, 32, of Saugerties, New York was first arrested at 5:25am for domestic violence on his girlfriend.

Because of Criminal Justice Reform guidelines Carlton was released from custody at 9am.

At 11:33am, police responded to a casino employee being sexually assaulted, and again arrested Carlton. After running from police Carlton was arrested and taken into custody. Additional charges against him include aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, burglary, aggravated assault, criminal restraint, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest.

Carlton is now being held in the Atlantic County Jail.
