A man wanted for aggravated assault and weapons offenses was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly fleeing from officers.

The Atlantic City Police Department says the scene unfolded just after 10:00 Wednesday morning when officers saw 44-year-old Tony Griffin of Atlantic City at the corner of MLK Boulevard and Adriatic Avenue. Cops say Griffin ran from officers after he was ordered to stop. Following a chase, Griffin was arrested in the 200 block of New York Avenue.

The ACPD says Griffin was wanted after a domestic violence incident on December 3rd where he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, retrieved a shotgun from a bedroom, and threatened to shoot the victim.

Griffin was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility and is now facing aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain persons not to possess a weapon, simple assault, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest charges.
